1Soak the chicos and beans together in ample water overnight.
2Put the oil in a medium-hot frying pan and fry the onion, garlic and red pepper flakes until the onion is transparent.
3Remove from the pan and place it in a 2-quart saucepan under.
4Fry the meat in the same pan until the meat begins to brown.
5Pour the chicos and beans and all the ingredients in the pan and then add enough water to just cover.
6Add salt to taste and cook, covered, until the beans are tender and chicos, approximately l hour.
